Sunday Night Report: Things I’ve Done For J-Pop

Hi guys. I specially make this effort to just let you guys know on how much of a J-Pop fan I’ve been over the years, and things really started when I noticed I can collect my own salary, or allowance from being in NS. But then, I hope this does not stop after the service too, so maybe…

Talking about the main story, I’m just going to touch on the recent packages that have been dropped at my home, yet mostly received by me. Well how can I anyway? I’m in camp… Well, specifically saying:

May 8th: Catching Up To The First Japanese Songs + The Duplication Event
Well just picking up pieces from singles that I’ve missed is okay, but then it is only until I place the singles on the shelf that I noticed… that I got two of the same single! I must have loved Porno Graffitti to forget about that man, really. To what I shall do is not sure yet, because selling it already poses plenty of problems for me in Singapore wanting to sell a… not-so-popular single out to the mass. So, for now… I think I’ll keep it to myself. Really. On the other hand, I also caught up to the (supposedly) first Japanese song I heard: Koda Kumi’s “Koi no Tsubomi”. Surprisingly it was a movie theme song so it’s single-track, which is immediately placed in the basket. This order was specifically planned to come on my block leave (it almost missed it due to me not knowing the holiday schedules in Japan), so I was able to listen to it…

May 9th: My First Order From Amazon Japan
This took a year later than expected, but here goes. I’ve been able to get the releases I wanted from CDJapan most of the time, but what happens if I were not able to get it or the availability is low? The only other solution is to approach Amazon Japan, which ended up… quite a heck a lot more difficult than I thought. As my Singapore address is not recognised, I have to send it to a Japanese address and get a delivery service for Singapore to send it here. And it came, and here it is! You don’t know the expression on my face man…:

This is 100% authentic man, I swear. And the 4 singles inside it too, in perfect condition. And finally marble’s singles (they sang for Hatsukoi Limited?) are able to arrive at my abode:
This is truly something I have not expected ever since I started buying from CDJapan, but a breakthrough is a breakthrough, so… maybe I should try again? There’s this limited edition SPECIAL OTHERS single I’ve not gotten yet because of its price, but…

May 22nd: My Room Makeover + My First Pre-Order
On the 3rd of the month I have made an important decision in the one year I’ve been ordering CDs, is to pre-order a single. And not only for that. Also, I pre-order a single when I have only heard a preview of 90 seconds! Man! What did I mention about listening to it full before considering to buy it? But I cannot control myself due to seeing the first press goods that came with it:Guys, the photo of TOMOMI is only part of the equation. There’s this poster hanging in my room now that… haha I will not show you, but you guys don’t know how awesome this is! But then I asked myself: Which is more important, listening to songs or taking the special goods, which kind of made me revise my roots. And yesh, I was under the assumption that I’ll like Aki-chan’s latest single and have it the thumbs up even without hearing everything. SCANDAL’s one was a different case, though…

Also, this date also marks my mum’s loss of a day’s part-time salary to receive this AND THIS:

But all in all I was satisfied with the end result, a new desk and bookshelf for an excuse to move the computer from the living room to my room (I wonder if LX has done this already?), and you see something beside the old desk? Yesh it’s a DVD TOWER!!!

*laughs loudly and proudly* (Audience: You done?) *calms down* Haha, I’m okay. But then I see that pictures say a lot more than me isn’t it? Besides, this joy can not be expressed in words, especially coming from me. If I did this earlier I think I’ll be writing an essay for each paragraph already, hehe.

 

And you thought my craziness has ended isn’t it? No, you’re wrong~
Really man, it’s the season. Even though I don’t have many songs this year, but songs that come together in CDs do come out in these few months. In the month of May last year I have already brought in my first 13 singles of my life and last year. With the present count (including the order above) to be a pathetic EIGHT singles, things clearly need to improve. But never mind, at the least I’m satisfied. I’m satisfied of being able to see the feel the joy that many others are at their homeland, and also to be supporting the artists the way it is supposed to be done. Hopefully for many years to come I can still do that, and I would see more of J-Pop flowing all over the world (there have been reports and events to support that) so that one day (actually I have considered SCANDAL live, but I’ve not gone there) I would be able to attend a live that I can say I love. Soon, huh…

[P.S.: DAMN I HAVE TO WAIT ANOTHER TWO WEEKS JUST BECAUSE OF SAMBOMASTER’S NEW SINGLE! I SHOULD”VE PLACED IT IN MY NEXT ORDER INSTEAD DAMMIT!!!]
