Sunday Morning Report: Entertainment News… You Know What It Is Already

I know, that’s why I’m thinking of another title so the web host does not produce the same websites enough for them to have to number them. Go check out last week’s entry. Before that, finish reading this first, ok?

ANIME
(Well we finally can stop reviewing this bunch of Anime already huh? NOT.)
Nagi no Asukara: (I watched this first to see what happens) Oh and it’s not last episode yet. This time they do the Ofunehiki (ceremony in short) the same exact thing happens. They sing badly, a whirlpool happens, some people drop into the sea because they don’t hold on to their boats, and guess what? Someone else besides Manaka has to be the sacrifice. What happens to Miuna-chan now? Your guess is… definitely different from me, because I don’t know. Next week’s the last, and hope they have a good ending. Really. Like the Sea God takes the wooden girl. Apparently the God’s as sick as the Uroko-sama, going after small, cute girls…
Samurai Flamenco: Eh… if anyone likes the marriage confession portion, I’ll know that you are gay. Or into boys love. Whichever it is. Anyways, great news it ended on a good note, like Haiji gets into detention, the cop gets away with his girlfriend’s loss with the replacement of (god help him) Masayoshi-kun, who just doesn’t mind being a hero again another day.

The end.

I’m glad it’s over. Phew!

Golden Time: Finally to what I want to talk about this week. Honestly this is 1x good last episode. At least in compensation to the front few episodes which are… worse than expected, initial impressions of course. A year later after Banri admitted into hospital to recover while forgetting everything he does in university, he is helped by 2D-kun and Kouko’s appearance to recall everything with the sight of that mirror he exchanged with his ex-girlfriend back then. What a wonderful ending. But the past him is like… is he a ghost or something? Why Linda also can touch him? It’s part of Banri’s conscience? Okay I don’t care since I don’t (and most likely won’t) read the novel, but happy that it ended on a positive note. As they play the first opening song again in the ending of the episode I finally feel that this show is at least complete.
Seitokai Yakuindomo: Oh this show? It’s ending very soon, as soon as I get the last episode, which has aired yesterday late at night. And they’re turning this into some filler-romance show featuring Uomii, and hope they don’t crash this show. It’s been good so far, the sick jokes…
Tonari no Seki-kun: Honestly, I don’t know when this will end. May last another quarter? The manga (from what I saw) is rather long…

MANGA
BLEACH: Anyone scared of Kenpachi? That Sternritter isn’t. *silence* Wish him the best of luck. For Kubo, so long as the main guy hasn’t revealed his recently acquired power this battle isn’t ending with the opponent’s victory. Oops. Haha. I don’t do spoilers anyway. I wish I was…

KLASSIC NOTE
Hmm not much this week. Reviewed three albums from people… I seemingly know little of. ALTIMA’s first album was… full of dance and (not surprisingly) techno, which pretty much deters me away from their album. Period. I also listened to Annabel’s 2nd album (you remember back then the Anime “Red Data Girl”?) due to a familiar tone I hear from the hit song “Ryuusen to Kaiwa”, which surprisingly is really composed by the guy in School Food Punishment, which disbanded (if you guys don’t know) in 2012 after singing their last on Anime “UN-GO”. Wow I feel I dumped too much relating to you guys enough to confuse you already, huh. Well that also is not in the list. I tried, at least. In contrast, I have Aso Natsuko’s 3rd album a second chance after not being impressed in the first listen a few weeks back. Now? I’m still not really pleased. But seeing her DVD which has the PV for the song I will be taking soon “My Starlit Point” and live footage for when I bought her single “Never Ending Voyage”… I guess that pretty much says it, huh.

Don’t say I don’t give chance. I may even give the recently-released Nagi no Asukara’s character songs a chance. Yesh both of them.

I guess that’s all. In GAMES I mentioned on the previous post (no not the Satomi-chan one, the one before that *blush*) about other games to play besides SimCity (because it has many problems to complain about), and recently been playing a lot. But I do remember APoL, and other Anime who already took some of my ideas away. Look back on the posts and you’ll find one which talks about this. Cya guys next week again, until next time… you’ll be seeing either a very happy me, or a me that is searching for jobs on the Net. Figure it out yourself.

Sunday Afternoon Report: A Dream Full Of Sugar

Hi guys. Haha you guys should know why I’m here so early. I had a wonderful dream last night, and this time again featuring one of the… idol voice actors I’m following. Given the title, hopefully most of you would be able to guess it’s full of Satou Satomi-chan. Don’t ask me how it happened, but I can tell you what happened…

“As far as I can remember, I’m standing with a crowd facing (probably) a stage, with (I guess) a whole bunch of friends. I was on the first row. Diagonally from me, someone tapped by right shoulder and I faced back. She told me if I could switch places with her as she could not see what is in front. I replied ‘fine’ and switched over. Not long after, someone directly behind me tapped by shoulder. I then commented to the one who switched with me in front of me (something like) ‘you see, another wants to take my place’ and I look back to see Satomi-chan! What’s more, to my surprise as I comment and face the first person I switched with is also Satomi-chan! Oh!!…”

Pretty much what both of the girls wore. Yes, it may be an illusion, but I swear this is more than coincidental. And I think I spent the rest of the night (early morning I think) ringing that tune on my head:

It’s from her debut single, called “Brave Morning!!”, and that gave me the courage to wake up in the morning for another day. The end. Hehe…

Saturday Night Report: SimCity, and Everything Else

Hi guys. Been playing plenty of SimCity and other games this week, thought I should share about what’s good and bad about all I’ve played, and what an ideal game it would have been if all came together.
THE NEW SIMCITY

Back in it’s 5th instalment, SimCity released in 2013 (last year) has been well-acclaimed with plenty of praises and complaints. Mainly praising of their new game engine “Glassbox” and awesome graphics in the game, but compensated by the array of technical problems and aesthetics, with players wanting bigger maps and (initially an online-only game) an offline playing experience. Until today, they recently released an update which features single-player mode, where users can save their cities and play with themselves in a region as promised.
THE SEARCH FOR AN ALTERNATIVE
Why I think this game is great: Graphics. There’s no other simulation game that focuses THIS MUCH on animation quality, and they have done it this time round. I’m deeply impressed.
Why this game can improve: Focus of the game. I’m not bothered to talk about the technical difficulties, even thought I did say that
“Haha well it wasn't easy. I spent 40% of the time getting this game running, 30% of the time puzzled some of the game mechanics are not working, 29% of the time waiting to recover after I maxed out my loans to build everything and that 1% to take these pictures for my wallpapers... xD” –Kaineng, on Facebook
Okay, let’s get back. Problem here is I wanted a game which focuses on a wonderful transport system and I could be part of it, much like in Grand Theft Auto, where one can take metro and taxi around town. So, I went on to find whether such a game exists. Which brings us to the main point of me writing this post, and why I’m playing some other games which include:
CITIES IN MOTION 2 & CITIES IN MOTION
I tried the latest game first before its predecessor, but that’s not the point. Generally I landed myself in the category of business management, where one has to take care of everything of creating an efficient transport system. Which makes you like a Transport Minister, so to speak. Meaning you have to deal with the congestions on the road with citizens and tourists complaining about the long waiting time and high transport fares in the long run of the game, trying to make a profitable business. Saying it like this, this game also is not as good as SimCity. Given that I’ve seen SimCity as my benchmark of the graphics I’ve remembered, Cities in Motion 2 (running Unity engine) would not make this a better game. Besides, it’s as irritating as the SimCity game in terms of transport. Really.



A-TRAIN 9 (TRAIN GIANT in English versions)
Developed by a Japanese company, this game also is business related, whereas this has some focus of being IN the transport system, being on buses and trains etc. However it consists a heavy content of resource management and city development in a manner that would not be easy without a tutorial. Really, it DOES NOT have a tutorial. I see trucks in my vehicle list and I ask myself “What the heck is happening?” in the game. That’s the problem. Great, but falling short.
In conclusion, NOTHING I played can compare to SimCity, even though can easily compensate for what SimCity lacks. So if:

• SimCity keeps its awesome graphics and game engine;
• Cities in Motion’s big maps and monopoly-themed gameplay, and;
• Train Giant’s focus on being inside the transport system.

Combing all of that, and you’ll have a game that I’ll probably start buying. Cya guys then. Until next time… if you’re bored, go ahead and play some games. Don’t be like me, staring into the computer screen, thinking of what to write next on my blog…

Friday Night Report: Universal Inspiration

Not that I missed the dates because I spent too much time at home, but I’m just here to share something. Someone stole my story idea. (Audience: Who?) Well you’re about to find out.

Apparently I was reading the new season previews for Anime, and came across this show. The synopsis sounds very familiar…

According to Random Curiosity: (where I go most often for Anime reviews)

“A popular card game among teenagers, it’s been said there are special cards that possess a will of their own. Known

as LRIG cards, these cards can only be heard and possessed by girls known as “selectors,” who fight in an alternate


dimension in order to have any wish of theirs granted. As hope, desire, and greed combine and WIXOSS starts taking a dangerous turn, Kominato Ruko joins the fight as the newest of the selectors.”

It’s called “Selector Infected WIXOSS” (read as wɪkˈsəʊˌesˈaɪz if you understand) (Audience: WTH was that anyway?) (Phonetics?), and according to the writer that this show bears many similarities to APoL, if you guys would know, is the story I’m currently STILL DOING on since a few years ago… (Audience: Yeah slow huh…) Ok whatever. Anyways, the similarities include “special cards that possess a will” and can only be used by “selectors” and actually “fight in an alternate dimension in order to have any wish of theirs granted”, and what’s more, someone “joins the fight as the newest” of the people. Sounds familiar? Here’s the further breakdown:

WHAT’S SURPRISINGLY SIMILAR

• “special cards”, as with APoL Cards too, they are special
• “selectors”, as compared to Yielders and Abusers, or generally Users
• (most similarly) “fight in an alternate dimension”, which is a Duel in my story. And;
• “to have any wish of theirs granted”, which is the Final Card in a Duel.

But just in case you think I’m already giving in to their ideas:

WHAT’S DISTINTIVELY DIFFERENT

• The Cards in APoL do not possess any Will of their own. They create effects via taking in a User’s Will
• Users in APoL do not only consist of cute girls. That’s why this is an original Anime, produced by people driven by loli-perverted audiences, that is the feature of Anime. APoL is NOT like that..
• The Duel’s ultimate objective is to weaken the opponent in order to FORCE UPON to earn what they desire to do, not just purely for wishing something to happen, which is vague in some situations. (I swear this is the most difficult to refute)
• WIXOSS is in the Psychological genre. APoL is more slice-of-life, mystery and a little action.
• WIXOSS has monsters. APoL is all about humans and everything around them.

In conclusion, this show is unlike APoL, but has sparked much interest in similarity for me to mention it here… I swear someone read my story. The production team.

Does that mean I’ll watch the show? Does that mean I’ll stop APoL because there’s someone using the idea already? No. Stories are about inspiration, and they originate from watching, imagining and reading from others. So you know what I may do? I may just watch this show a few episodes to see how I can integrate some of their ideas into my story. Haha. You can say it’s cheating, but for a much larger scale story like mine (haha spoilers?) I’ll need more material and solid theories in place. If you’re interested in APoL but need a serious psychological twist (if you don’t know about the genre go Google this Anime called “Aku no Hana”) then I’m not recommending this show. Because it wasn’t my idea.

Haha anyways, keep the inspiration universal, people. APoL also started, developed and is developing because of the Anime I’ve watched too…

Toyosaki Aki – Delight (Single)

Origin: Aki-chan has been one of my personal (not recommended) favourites ever since she started singing in Anime “K-ON!”. But she has came a long way. This is already her 10th single ever since her debut in October ‘09, and she’s still going strong. With her regular cast of various notable composers supporting her release including Rie fu (yeah…) and vocaloid composer sasakure.UK, she sure is getting the best out of her career.

(1) Delight
Hmm… initial impressions are alright, but kinda deterred by the lyrics, like “SOS” sounds weird to me, and the unusually high pitched notes in some parts of the song. But then listening to the lyrics make you understand that this is a wonderful song about farewell, to welcome spring, which you guys should know is not far in front of us. Composed by someone who I’ve at least heard her write for Aki-chan once is Tamurapan-san (it’s her stage name, and the song is from the 2nd album “Patapa”), who does write decent melodies with relaxing style of music, which is shown in the song. And I like the song, because it’s a soft song of farewell.

You know something? I thought for once when looking at the title that Aki-chan maybe going for her wildest single yet. I’m terribly wrong…
Rating: 4 stars (Average) (Pretty damn good)

(2) Osanpo no Uta
Eh those who don’t desire to go back or even recall your childhood please stop here. Because this song is definitely only audible for kids under elementary school. Nevertheless, the simple folk-song style melody does make the song sweet yet catchy to listen to, especially with Aki-chan at the vocals. Reminds me of Yui in K-ON!, when she was a kid. This must be her theme song back then, haha. Not recommended for matured audiences, but it’s worth a listen. Surprisingly, what I heard on the radio preview is the same as the full song as it’s a little short over 2 minutes.
Rating: 4 stars (Average) (Delightfully cute)

Conclusion: If you liked Aki-chan, I bet you are one of those bastards who took the pre-order from somewhere in which the special gift I wanted to get. Or else, if you don’t mind Aki-chan’s irresistably cute voice and her average singing, please give the songs a listen. The composers at least did a good job doing up the songs. *silence* That’s as far as I can convince you guys to listen, I guess.

Horie Yui – The World’s End

Haha. Link is above. I don’t wish to type twice. Lucky I checked it beforehand.

The source? This time it’s TOWER RECORDS (Oops I guess no one bothers about this then. I’ll keep it short), and it’s as troublesome as Animate Online Shop. No EMS, and the packaging is as un-protective as ever. Let’s say it’s “basic” instead of “minimal”, huh. Besides, the gifts are making me happy already (haha), so I guess that doesn’t matter…

I guess that’s all. If you wonder why I took a few hours before doing this up, it’s because I’m enjoying playing SimCity. OFFLINE. I’m not 伍佰 anyway; I don’t enjoy playing ONLINE…

 

[P.S.: News of Mina-chan’s new single sure spread far and well, if you guys don’t know yet. It’s “Believe x”, confirmed from the official website, and the jacket artwork if out. If it’s like her first single, I don’t mind. I see familiar names in the composition too, like Hoshimura Mai, who impressed me with a BLEACH ending and one song from Mina-chan’s first album, This, is going to be something to look forward to.]

Hi guys, welcome back. *silence* Well let’s get to it then.

ANIME
Well I’ll focus more of the shows that are about to end soon…
Samurai Flamenco: Hmm looks like the Haiji kid is not Masayoshi’s illusion after all. So how? Now that he’s got his best buddy, what can he do? Will the hero be in time to save the policeman? I don’t know, and I’m not going to hold my breath. I’ll just see how violent this show can end on to be a climax. Haha.
Nagi no Asukara: Okay this has more to talk about. Tsumugu has chosen to end the series, or actually, regain Kana-chan Manaka-chan’s (haha forgot) feeling of love by sending a wooden Ojoshisama down this time with another boat festival, hopefully will resolve the situation. With Uroko-sama, not rejecting the idea, I guess I’ll be expecting a good ending. But I may be wrong. So… I’ll be looking forward to that. Even till the end it sure is exciting…
Golden Time: The first time I watch a romance show and I’m not touched, especially when the climax just went past me in this recent episode. Banri has surrendered to his past memory illness and decided to end with his last successful attempt on the festival performance, and leaving Kouko to recover. Well that’s rather sad, but as I mentioned, I really didn’t feel anything. Even with my eyes stared to the show all the time. Damn, either I’m heartless or this show’s production really has a problem…

Tonari no Seki-kun: Eh… what? Mountain climbing of a toy bear (which Yokoi likes, which I like) on someone else’s back? Seki-kun sure has the guts man…
Seitokai Yakuindomo: Well they got to Uomii’s school festival. That’s all I remembered. Because everything else cannot (and will not be discussed here anyway…

 

MANGA
BLEACH: Kenpachi saves the day. And he says big. Like “I’m THE Kenpachi” big. Either I’m worried for the Sternritter for not taking his words seriously, or worried for Kenpachi for seriously underestimating the impossibilities the Quincy enemy can deliver. Apparently, action is not enough for this story.
Kuroshitsuji: If you’ve heard the news, you should’ve known that a new season of Anime is in production, and two small arcs are prepared to be released within half a year, namely the “Book of Circus” Circus Arc (release platform unknown, likely TV) and “Book of Murder” House Murder Arc confirmed as an OVA. If anyone forgot the story (I forgot quite a lot too, but generally I can still) then it’s good time to watch already. Most likely will be based on Manga adaptation, from the many sources I read. But worried about the amount of filler content given then I read this series already. Oh well, anticipations still hot for this show. Hope the new season then, not that Ayahi-chan’s in the cast anyway.

On a side note, the latest chapter. Wolfe is somewhat the sidekick of Sebastian, as he takes over the Green Witch’s house, literally. Well, the butler has a lot to learn from the devil, haha. Also, we’re about to learn (not all, but) more about Ciel’s past and character, from Finny’s viewpoint... Next chapter.

 

KLASSIC NOTE
Main focus for the week are mainly negoto’s new mini-album “ZOOM” which appeared a week later than release, and Aki-chan’s new single “Delight”. negoto… I’m okay with their eccentric style of rock, but actually want some action songs for the year. Also picked up another contrastingly emotional song from the list too. Aki-chan’s single… CD and review will come next week, confirmed. I promise. Haha.

That’s it; I’m done for the only thing I take seriously now, for the week. Haha. Cya next time, where… most likely I’ll be busy playing SimCity and busy kissing the gifts that come with Hocchan and Aki-chan’s singles… *drools* (Audience: Gross, seriously) Haha jkjk…

Sunday Night Report: Entertainment News Weekly

Wow, how time flies by. Welcome back. I swear I didn’t even feel this week fly by, and I know I will feel it next week. Hehe. (Audience: The two pre-order CDs?) Hehehehe…

ANIME
Seitokai Yakuindomo: Looks like they’re following latest manga content, which is good news. And more jokes coming our way. You know, if there’s a storyline I’ll talk about it, but this show is just wrong, so I guess not. Haha.
Tonari no Seki-kun: Oh looks like the lovey-dovey antics between the couple has gotten another classmate’s attention, (not) surprisingly (as I heard from her voice) voiced by Satomi-chan, and also very assumptive in many things that are going on between Seki-kun and Yokoi-san. Well third-person viewpoint is rather misleading here, but fun to watch…
Samurai Flamenco: Looks like the Seiji-kun is actually part of his illusion again, this hero who wants some fight in him. So how? What should he do? He desires an enemy, yet he only fights when there’s injustice. What should he do? Looks like a conclusion is about to surface, so get prepared. It may be another cliff-hanger again? Haha…
Nagi no Asukara: (You guys know I’m just waiting to talk about this) Hmm… and we know how that Tsumugu actually likes Chisaki. Well that doesn’t seem to be a problem to Hikari, who until now believes that Tsumugu is what Manaka likes, who is in fact unable to experience love now and somewhat is never going to be forever. Complicated? Think again. Now that things have come to this, it most likely will stop the love polygon (I guess?) for a while to do up the ending, which most likely would involve the few people themselves and the underwater city. Looking forward to the ending already…
Golden Time: Wow this? If you started watching now with knowledge of the novel, this is rather exciting. You would be pleased to know that things have surfaced its own truth now that Banri has told everyone the truth about his past with Linda and that Kouko knows he is taking pills to curb his uneasiness. Well don’t really know what’s going to happen from here, but hope it’s a good ending? Hmm…

MANGA
BLEACH: What? Kenpachi’s here? Ok game’s over, let the boss take over Yachiru-chan…
Oh on a side note, will be also reading A Channel and perhaps Seitokai Yakuindomo (wherever it’s left off) in the next few weeks, because… I have to read back? A Channel lah I mean…

SHOWS
MythBusters is going to be back, don’t know when, don’t know how. But previews have been hinted, so that’s the (only) good news. CrazyGod is more storyline-heavy this time, where there’s proper development (instead of the usual puns) and small cliff-hangers seen in recent episodes.

KLASSIC NOTE
Wow we’re here again. I talked about last week on the review too about Hocchan’s single, so I don’t feel like talking about it again. Surprisingly there are people who like the song, more than me. That’s good news. Also, SID’s album is out, and amongst the many new songs I only decided to listen to an upbeat one “CANDY” because the others… just don’t get to me. On a side note, I do intend to listen to negoto’s new mini-album, provided I get to listen to it. It’s feature song “Mayonaka no Anthem” is quite good. Reminds me of their off-note electronic-rock style I liked from a few years ago…

I guess that’s all. Quick update on news: APoL is in progress of another revamp, as I may decide to do up the whole summary for the storyline from start to end FIRST before continuing where I left off, and next week I’m expecting two CDs. If they do appear next week I’ll post the review here. Cya guys then, until next time… I shall so watch others play Sims 3. Not YouTube. Haha…

Wednesday Night Report: The Klassic Note Review

Today we have two, one (supposedly) released this week and the other… well I just listened to the CD a few days ago. So shall we?

THE KLASSIC NOTE REVIEW
Satou Satomi – Mirai Night (Single)

(Always remember I only possess the Regular Edition because… put in short, it’s too high a price to pay and DVDs are not widely standardised from where I come from) (Which means I’m clearly not from Japan or anywhere near it)

Origin: News appeared as early as three months ago from its release, in December last year where Satomi-chan proudly released her artist debut as a singer! Congrats for her during that time, and her debut live performance is (really) times better off Kana-chan when she had hers two years ago. But anyway, it’s a lively rock band that she wants to create on her singing career, thus her effort of waiting this long (after reading many reliable sources) to start and how she intends to start guitar learning in order to show us her dream on her own live in the near future. Probably a year later, I suppose…
(I can write longer from where she was singing in K-ON! as Ricchan, but I guess that’s a little far…)

(1) Mirai Night
As the title suggests, this is definitely a lively and simple rock piece to listen to, and I swear I took a liking to it (and her) the first time I heard it. I guess that’s what everyone wants to listen in a song, and this has everything. Lyrics also mean something too, with the inaccurate English sung by her is definitely not as important as her expressing this song in a positive light. PV-wise… it’s for you to decide. Though it’s not the considering factor to listening to this though: It’s rather unnecessary too… It’s pretty good on its own. Simple and upbeat: just how you guys would also like it.
Rating: 4 stars (Above Average)

(2) Brave Morning!
This… apparently is more of a cheerleading song than a rock song, but also has the rock style. And listening to it makes me think this song is not as bad as the first one too. Why the title? That I don’t really know, but from what I read online sources lead to the song written the morning of her debut performance as a singer, thus the inspiration, and this upbeat style. It also carries the band rock that Satomi-chan wants in, but put in a little more cheers in between. Overall, a very lively song, and not losing to Tomacchan in this case.
Rating: 4 stars (Average)

Conclusion:
If you like her, you’ll like her song. Because from singing upbeat character songs in Anime, this is another fresh approach but this time, she is serious about it. Like all-out band, and her playing the guitar –sort of thing. And this single represents everything in it. I personally think this is great, but as the best this year… If you guys know my ranking standards yanaginagi would win her by one track here… Not my point. DO give her a listen if you like upbeat songs, as this has a little of everything: pop, rock and a little cheer.

(What is SOOOOO interesting about the Limited Edition is IN it’s music video, where clues are in to access a website with a code that lets you in to solve a mystery within the 5-minute video. Unique, but unfortunately I don’t get it, so…)

Origin: If it’s Anime songs you know well then Hocchan barely needs any introduction. Sequel to her first set of theme songs given to the Anime “Golden Time”, this is so referred to the theme songs for the ‘2-cour’ Anime length (ie. second half), as hearing from the songs. Unfortunately, this gets plenty of Anime boost, which is mostly negative in many cases. Let me tell you why below. Really, the first set of theme songs (last year) did better than this…

(1) The World’s End
How to say this… Eh… It’s very different? Yeah, I guess. No wonder they took so long just to release this. They (production) probably don’t know how to make this into a full song too, haha. Turns out they did, and come out trumps, as I guess this is the most counter-intuitive song I guess I hear from such a cute voice, but that goes to show listening to Anime songs gives a certain level of uncertainty from what you may be hearing, and from the start this has not been good. Upon close inspection things to rather surface, but nonetheless the style of this song is rather rough on the outstanding-character side, similar to what she acts on the show as Kaga Kouko, a rich lady who is possessive of her lover. (Oops spoilers for those who haven’t watched?) The PV gives another side to this song’s impression, as a mystery surrounds the house, apparently not a crime, but about a black cat and… pretty much everything else I don’t understand, but doesn’t seem to look like love already. I don’t know how to put a clear verdict to this, but if this isn’t your taste, you should very well turn away. Or else, give creative/restricted songs a chance, yes?
Rating: 4 stars (Average) (Anything higher would be ridiculous)

(2) Haneikyuuteki ni Aishite yo
I initially hoped for this song to turn the tides to the impression of this single, but… I guess the composers wrecked this completely, huh. Reading till here, if you guys don’t intend to hear this single, then you can stop reading here. Comparing to her previous single “Golden Time” it consists of two short (rather short) songs written short and simple, yet impressive. In this case, it seems that dragging the song and bringing out the mood of the song seems to be the focus here, as I catch the little familiar melodies as much as I can to make it feel like I’m hearing a nice song. You know, this could well be a short 3-minute song, but I guess the first two minutes are so deliberate I start to feel I’m being an idiot listening to it. But no, I’m not giving it 3-stars just because it has a good melody. Just… just… production problem, just like the show itself initially. Go read the comments online. I don’t even want to comment on it anymore…
Rating: 4 stars (Below Average) (Anything lower I won’t even pre-order this)

Conclusion: Eh… Can I don’t give one? If you liked Hocchan ever since she was 20 or if you watch the Anime, please give this a listen by all means. Or else, leave it alone. Unless you like to test your endurance of brainwashing (which I apparently did) while listening to songs that are in imperfection. Period.

Sunday Night Report: Entertainment News Weekly

(I think I should start numbering by number of posts with this label…)

Hi guys, and welcome back again to this weekly digest and commentary where I cannot find or am lazy to talk to someone with the same interest as they are all jerks and putting down on text is better than listening to people’s comments. Okay, maybe I talked a little too much…

ANIME
Tonari no Seki-kun: This time it’s sewing, and apparently the girl is good at it. But not as well as Seki-kun again, as he knits a masterpiece in front of the practitioner. Exaggeration as usual just make this show weird yet awesome to watch, really.
Seitokai Yakuindomo*: The show is as great as ever. Don’t know why they introduce the previous class president, but apparently her mindset is older than my sis. (Audience: Your sis so old?) (Eh… no) Or maybe you like to see more of this pervy show, help yourself. It’s everywhere.
Samurai Flamenco: Either I gave up on getting shocked of the cliffhangers in this show, or I just want this show to conclude ASAP. Haha. Probably because I anticipated another threat? Haiz… it’s getting irritating already this show…
Nagi no Asukara: And yes, with this latest episode the truth is revealed. Uroko-sama comes down to explain his original duty and why Manaka-chan has (sadly) became a legend in the re-enactment of the Sea God’s love story. And worse off, the cliffhanger is that she is not able to love anymore. No wonder she feels so emotionless ever since she came back, despite her usual hyperactivity. Now that the truth is out (and most likely Manaka doesn’t realise either), what can they do? Is the end upon them? And we’re near the end too. I hope this show ends well, impressions will be better if it does…
Golden Time: Ah yesh, the show that still got everyone confused. This time Banri is really worried about his past coming back to him, especially demonstrated in front of Oka-chan who has been pestering him on his and Linda’s relationship. And so the anti-climax comes, where Kouko rejects Banri’s proposal. And we all know (1) it’s not possible, and (2) that is most likely for his own good. At least in Kouko’s opinion. Of course Banri’s not going to agree- Or is he?

SHOWS
No MythBusters… until I also don’t know when. Don’t ask, just don’t.

MANGA
BLEACH: Yachiru shows us her powers. Apparently I don’t know this is categorised under her zanpakuto, hollow powers or is she just having a pet or familiar or that sort of thing. Whatever. Get on with it, would you Yachiru-chan? Show how making yourself vanish is just waste of time…
Tonari no Kashiwagi-san: Just hot off the shelves this afternoon, and I must say it’s kinda mysterious. True it’s Yuuto’s birthday and many are doing a lot to celebrate it, but Kashiwagi-san wins the top by drawing him a picture for his birthday. Furthermore, she is planning…? Next chapter I guess…

KLASSIC NOTE
For this week’s releases (the 7 days before me) there’s Takebuchi Kei’s (from Goose house) debut album and MiraMuse (Samurai Flamenco) album too. Kei-chan… her style is not bad. Some general J-Pop which sounds like YUI plus her own style. Besides, she’s a singer-songwriter, and her song got mentioned on credit too, don’t know what show though. Didn’t take that song though. Took three other songs as give her chance. Besides she’s good anyway. MiraMuse leh… let’s just say their general rock style does help me listen to another song besides the Ending song from the Anime, but that’s all. I guess.

For next week it is confirmed with Hocchan’s latest single “The World’s End”, the… most astonishing single I’ve heard in years. Especially when it’s going to be on my shelf soon later next week too. Yep, I pre-ordered it. Also confirmed is Aki-chan’s new single, which only previews has brought me into a generous mood, and I went to click the order button too. Both WILL have separate reviews from next week, so sty tuned. I’ll need to think of how to write for Hocchan’s one. Aki-chan’s too if hers also disappoints…

 

I guess that’s it for the week. Been thinking a lot, so revamping the site is going to be on hold for the time being. Until… until I get to my senses somewhere between occupying myself to grasping my future. Else, see you next week, as I will STILL post this weekly. As I mention on the start of this post~

Thursday Night Report: A “tic tac case”

(I didn’t know I could just use this as the title…)

I decided to share this like, a week later after because I don’t even know how to start talking about it. But now I think I can. Now to give you a better idea of what I’m going to talk about first:

What you (should) know:
~ I’m running a Twitter account (visit 5th Anniversary site for link) which talks about everything I do to create Klassic Note, previously not done so because… I don’t possess a smart phone. Well this, you don’t know.
~ Furthermore, this Twitter account (@KlassicNote if you guys are lazy to find) talks recently about lyrics, because I understand parts of them, and post them occasionally on the account.

What you (may not) know and I should let you know more:
~ I’ve been listening to Audioleaf previously mentioned in Entertainment News and picked up two songs from two different bands. Yes. It’s one of them, called (which is why it’s) “tic tac case”.
~ I have heard them before. End of last year but back then there was only a short preview.
~ This band recently attended a competition hosted by Lawson (convenience store I think) “THE MUSIC MASTER” and got mentioned, which means they get their song aired on YouTube! Which means I get to hear it!
~ (More obviously) I liked their song, called “Latitude”.

So, what I did was to post the lyrics (Japanese FYI) of this band’s new song and…

Someone replied.

It was a guy. (“Phew” is not the first thing I thought of)

I saw a Japanese name.

And on it wrote:

“tictaccase vo”

The vocals of the band??

Yes it is!

It is “the singer of tictaccase!” (<- Quote)

And “I(he) want(s) to see you(me) sometime!”

I laugh. At myself.

“Does he know what he is doing? Or what I am doing?”

I laugh again.

Yes, the vocals apparently is (the only one) following me.

It was a shocker.

Must be the first-hand (most likely only) contact with a Japanese band member.

Then I wondered, “Did I type the lyrics properly?”

And replied him that.

Recently I mentioned their song again, and he favourited it. Not to mention my worry that the whole band most likely already knows me, and this is also how (somewhat) I got my first follower. Really? I started like this? Where’s all of you guys anyway?

Slight, short, but rather exciting.

[P.P.S.: I was thinking of some “affair” as a title, then I noticed that the band name made of a good title too. Oh, and checking their tweets their new album is going to be out on May! Three cheers for them!]

Sunday Night Report: Entertainment News Weekly

If you’ve been waiting for a week for this, so do I. And half of it was in hell. The other half? I was pretty much satisfied… (Audience: ???)

(*Note: Bolded titles are for your selective viewing pleasure. Or selective reviews depending on my viewpoint.)

ANIME
Seitokai Yakuindomo (last week’s one, actually): (Or more accurately, latest viewable unless you’re Japanese, ok?) The team went to the beach again, and brings back many memories. Really. Looking forward to more… unethical jokes, as with the Manga too.
Samurai Flamenco: It’s back after a week’s rest (I think), and even the alien thing is settled? And I agree with many on the RC website; “What else is there to talk about now that it’s ended?” Or “I wished it had ended on this episode” kind of comments. I don’t know. Guess I’ll have to watch to find out. See? It’s marketing.
Nagi no Asukara: Manaka-chan is back, and she seems like she always is, lively and cheerful. But what does it all mean? Until the end of the episode, where Tsumugu comes to the group showing a familiar mark which Manaka has experienced before: a curse from Uroko-sama. Hmm is he nearby? And is he going to confront or persuade them to do anything? Getting interesting till the end already, huh…
Golden Time: I swear I almost forgot Kouko knows about Banri’s relationship with Linda, seriously. But with that said, apparently the old Banri is coming back to haunt him, which really looks like Kokoro Connect already, in my opinion. The random thing. Hope it does not turn out to be a supernatural ending. Really, I hope. Those who read the novel please don’t tell me what happens, ok?

SHOWS
The MythBusters investigate the possibility of a killing ping-pong ball. Well the most they could is to get a flesh wound on pork by super-speeding the ball to 1.4x the speed of sound. Yesh, worth watching. And also, nice making of an ice cannon. Preferred if the Russians could just keep a proper cannon somewhere; The ice balls would be infinite ammo to them you know…

MANGA
Nagasarete Airantou: The author signals the end of an arc, which means we maybe up to something after this chapter full of indirect harem. Haha. Let’s see if the author intends a conclusion anytime soon. Soon, I guess.
BLEACH: Rukia successfully stops As Nodt, like, freezing kind of stop, which means she can proceed to troll the heck out of us readers. Kubo, you… On the other hand, Yachiru and Isane are confronted by a Sternritter it seems. It SEEMS because we can’t really see him, because he vanishes before anyone can. Guess it’s a good time for Isane Yachiru to fight, I think…

KLASSIC NOTE
Well it’s been an explosive week of SIX releases and new songs to listen, so let’s take it in parts, like the above sections. In order.
Ajikan Album “Feedback File 2”: A good compilation of many side songs and B-side songs they’ve done in the few years back, including from the infamous NANO-MUGEN COMPILATION unique of their style. I’m already stuck in another one. Overall like the many NANO-MUGEN songs inside, and the new song, “Rolling Stone”. It’s fresh, I guess…
FLOW Single “Ai Ai AI ni Utarete Bye Bye Bye”: This is credit from Anime “Samurai Flamenco” as it’s second opening song, and I guess it’s pretty well done. The idea of baseball pitching and hitting the guys in the PV is also reasonably intriguing. After that I didn’t bother to listen as their style is not under my alley.
Kana-chan Album “25”: The title means a lot in this case. It’s Kana-chan’s day in the month (Happy Birthday again, Kana-chan), and it has the same number of tracks as stated in the title too. Meaning that listening to all of them or even giving half the whole album a chance is not going to be easy. So I have one, on each disc. It’s two, so yeah, it’s one on each disc. One was the song from the single last December, and one I picked because it sounds lively and more like her “Young Oh! Oh!”. Not giving this album much praise because due to the fact that it’s a composer-biased album. Really, most of the songs are written by the same goddamn (sorry) person. And it’s bad. Intentionally bad for it to happen. In many ways.
sphere 5th Anniversary Single “Eternal Tours”: A pretty ‘safe’ album for the group, I guess. But good, nonetheless. I even gave the B-side “Sincerely” a serious listen, even though it is available in four versions each member writing a different version of the lyrics for the first half minute of the song, and that even if I liked both songs (which I did) there’s no Regular Edition to buy on. The last time was miwa’s single last year. B**ch. Never mind, see if I can get a hold of it on their next single coming April. Quick, isn’t it?
Satou Satomi’s Debut Single “Mirai Night”: Since the A-side should be familiar, at least to my ears, I’ll talk about the B-side. You know I read this interview (it’s translated in Chinese only goddammit) about her feelings for her debut, and it seems that she wants to do a music career of her in a band, which says why her debut was later than many voice actors in Japan. And that she hasn’t reached a pro stage to play the guitar yet, so it’s the live I’ll be looking forward too. And the B-side is a good song to do so, and I like it. Yesh, it’s in the order list already as I’m writing.

Yes if you have been (at least) counting the bolded sections, it’s one more missing. Instead of getting the Oreskaband Best Album on the end of the month, this is what I got:
Horie Yui’s Single “The World’s End”: Yep it’s the theme songs for Anime “Golden Time”, if you guys have been looking forward to it. Less for it on me as it should only be out 2 weeks later, this was both a shock and… not a good time to review. But listening to the two 5-minute songs (there’s a reason why 5-minute songs are that worth mentioning) repeatedly I cannot seem to give a good view of these songs. And that the expected Ending Song is actually faring worse than the A-side. Hope the PV will make everything better, and my pre-order in a better light. Really, this is one of those 4-star singles in my shelf. And she’s not winning Yanagi Nagi. Not any bit.

AND YOU THOUGHT I’M DONE???
Audioleaf: If you guys went to this place full of Japanese words, and even tried to click on a play button on any of the artists, you’ll find some treasure. Like I did. I got bored yesterday and instantly picked up two songs from two different artists. “tic tac case” got mentioned at a local song talent show hosted by convenience store “LAWSON”, and so did the song I managed to only listen a preview of also appeared on YouTube. It’s called “Latitude”, and it’s got plenty of rock in it. Good, solid rock. Definitely worth a listen. Sounds like tacica or Ajikan when they get moody. “pretaporter” actually has one of the most interesting beginnings as a band I’ve seen so far: through watching an Anime in January just last year. Half a year later they got their first mini-album, with a bunch of PVs online. I swear this creative rock band will make you think twice before saying why you don’t get to see a beautiful maiden or handsome hunks. Really, appearances do not matter here, people. Listened to their song “Denjirenji”, which actually turns out to mean, a microwave.

That’s all. Too lazy to do up Klassic Note reviews for now, guess I will once I get the new blog site and Klassic Note site revamped. Yep, plans have been made, but nothing’s on the table yet until I get things done, ok? Cya guys next time, where… freedom meets an empty pool of songs. No songs releases next week man, damn…
